The Wait Is Over: iPhone 13 Release
This year’s iPhone 13 release has been highly anticipated. As with all Apple products, a flurry of information was released from analysts and product leakers, leading to mass speculation about the phone’s release date, pricing, key features, and more. Plus, the added uncertainty of the pandemic left many of us wondering if history would repeat itself, and we’d have to wait again after another delayed release.
Thankfully, the new lineup – iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max – made its debut right on schedule, and we’re eager to get our hands on all the standard and pro models. Is it time you do the same? Keep reading to see if it’s time you upgrade from your current iPhone.
iPhone 13 Features to Look Out For
Could one of the new iPhone 13 models be right for you? Below are a few of the best iPhone 13 features we’ve seen so far!
1. Seamless, Smoother Display
The two Pro models have significant display improvements over the iPhone 11, 12, and other recent models. The iPhone 13 is equipped with Super Retina XDR display, making the device brighter, sharper, and more colorful. What makes this even more valuable to users is its use of OLED technology, which allows the device to get up to twenty-eight percent brighter than before!
2. Prolonged Battery Life
Apple hasn’t fully ditched the Lightning Port just yet, but a totally portless iPhone could happen one day. In the meantime, we still have the choice between it and MagSafe. This magnetic wireless charging port was initially designed for MacBooks, discontinued, then revived last year with the iPhone 12. Although this news has spurred mixed feelings from Apple users, we feel excited overall about the 13’s charging capabilities. Both Pro models can reach up to 50% charge in 30 minutes. Plus, the iPhone 13 will come equipped with an A15 Bionic chip that supports prolonged battery life.
3. New Camera Lenses, Sensors, and More
The iPhone 13 has brought a few notable camera hardware updates. The iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max have a Pro 12 MP camera system with Telephoto with optical zoom, Wide, and Ultrawide lenses. The higher-end models also have a LiDAR scanner, sensor-shift OIS, Cinematic mode for video, and better low-light performance through their ultra-wide camera lens. Unlike last year’s models, whose camera features were more consistent across the board, we’ll see a more considerable discrepancy between the standard 13 models and the 13 Pro models. One interesting change we’ve seen in the iPhone 13 Mini and iPhone 13 models is their rear camera arrangement is diagonal instead of vertical.
4. Easy-to-Grip Design
Those who have been #TeamiPhone for a while may be excited to know that the iPhone 13 mimics some of the brand’s flatter designs, like the iPhone 5 and iPhone 6. In addition, the new lineup features a twenty percent smaller notch than we’re used to and comes in several different colors, including midnight, blue, and pink. Keeping with the latest design trends, Apple’s iPhone contains very few bezels and has protection features to improve water resistance and durability.
