Comparing the Newest Samsung Galaxy Laptops

Recently, Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy Book Go, which is the predecessor to the Samsung Galaxy Pro and Pro 360. Given their wide range of features, we thought it would be beneficial to compare these models so that you can make a well-informed decision when choosing your next Samsung Galaxy laptop.

Samsung Galaxy Book Go vs. Samsung Galaxy Book Pro

If you’re trying to decide between the newly released Samsung Galaxy Book Go and the slightly older Samsung Galaxy Book Pro, we’ve got you covered. These comparisons review the design, battery life, processing capabilities, storage capacity, and connectivity of each laptop to help you decide which device is suitable for you.

Design

The newly released Samsung Galaxy Book Go laptop is designed to keep you productive wherever you go. The 180-degree hinge allows you to adapt to your space and computing needs. It is roughly 3lbs, making it a compact and durable device with shockproof technology. It has a 14″ FHD LED screen for vivid color and graphic quality. One of its key design features is its capability to stay cool without a fan, thanks to its new Qualcomm core processor. This device comes in Silver.

The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro, released for pre-order in April 2021, was also designed for portable productivity. Its ultrathin frame has it weighing in around 2lbs, which is optimal for travel. This device has two screen options: the 13.3″ display and the 15.6″ display, both made with advanced AMOLED screen technology. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Book Go, it features a fingerprint reader as an extra security step and Realtek HD audio for your listening pleasure. This device comes in Mystic Silver and Mystic Blue.

Processing and Battery Capacity

One of the most exciting features of the new Samsung Galaxy Book Go is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 core processor. This brings a technology used in phones for years into computer systems. In addition, this processor is an uber-fast piece of technology designed to keep you connected.

The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro uses the Intel® Core™ i5 or Intel® Core™ i7, depending on which size display you purchase. The power of this process is impressive but not as up and coming as its counterpart.

Both Galaxy Book computers have significant battery life, but the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro has a leg up. While the Go has 18 hours of battery runtime, the Pro has a battery life of 21 hours.

Storage

The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro was designed for quickly downloading large files and streaming videos without the lag. This model comes with four different storage and SSD options to choose from:

13.3” display with 8GB (RAM) + 256GB SSD
13.3” display with 8GB (RAM) + 512GB SSD
15.6” display with 8GB (RAM) + 512GB SSD
15.6” display with 16GB (RAM) + 512GB SSD

The Samsung Galaxy Book Go’s storage capacity sits at 4GB (RAM) + 128 GB.

Connectivity

The Samsung Galaxy Book Go uses WiFi 5 to bring you worldwide connectivity. In addition, you can expect other connectivity features from this device like Bluetooth, two USB-C ports, and one USB 2.0 port.

The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro steps connection up with WiFi 6 capabilities. Its other features include Bluetooth, one Thunderbolt™ 4 port, a USB 3.2 port, and one USB-C port.

Similarities

Though these devices have their fair share of differences, you can find some exciting similarities amongst the Samsung Galaxy Book Go and Galaxy Book Pro, including:

  • Bluetooth
  • 1920 x 1080p screen resolution
  • 720p HD webcam
