Samsung Galaxy S7 Home Button Not Working?

Is your Galaxy S7 home button sticking, lagging or just plain unresponsive? These are common problems that many Galaxy S7 users run into. If your Samsung warranty has expired, it may be time to visit the professionals at CPR Cell Phone Repair.

Troubleshooting Galaxy S7 Home Button

Before you bring your Galaxy S7 and its broken home button to a professional technician, here are a few troubleshooting tips to try:

Clean the Home Button

Dirt or sticky substances on or around the Galaxy S7 home button could be the cause of your problems. Try using rubbing alcohol and a tissue or cotton swab to wipe on and around the home button.

Calibrate the Home Button

  1. Open any app that has come pre-installed on your Galaxy S7
  2. Simultaneously, press and hold the Power button until “slide to power off” appears.
  3. Release the power button, and then press and hold the home button until “slide to power off” vanishes.

Enable On-Screen Home Button

  1. If calibrating your home button fails, then enabling your on-screen home button is your next priority.
  2. Simply go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > Toggle On

Used CPR (Little Elm) to repair my phone battery in my iPhone 12 Pro. They used genuine Apple parts and had my phone ready quickly. After the battery repair, my phone was dropped and needed a back glass replacement, which was taken to another repair shop. A week or so after the back glass repair, my battery began swelling and causing the front screen to lift. I brought my phone back to CPR and they offered to replace my battery for free, however, I had noticed the back glass had cracked again (not being dropped this time) and the owner of CPR offered to repair the back glass free of charge. After taking my phone apart, CPRs team noticed that the other repair shop had used non authentic glass and they had caused large amounts of internal damage with the tools they used to removed the back glass, in fact the tool used by the other shop caused a puncture in the battery itself. Zee (owner of CPR) called me to break down just what they were seeing and how they could tell that the battery issues weren’t caused by a faulty battery, but rather by the other repair shop. Even knowing this and providing multiple photos of their findings, Zee offered to still replace the battery and put the phone back together best as possible. I would highly recommend CPR going forward and all repairs I have will go to them. Their staff is knowledgeable and courteous. They may cost a little more, but they do the job right.
