Water Damaged iPhone 5?

Has your iPhone 5 gone for an accidental dip in the pool, fell in the toilet or gone through the wash? No worries, accidents happen and CPR is here to help.

Troubleshooting iPhone 5 Water Damage

There are a few things you can do before bringing your device to a professional repair team. Below are some Do’s and Don’ts for troubleshooting a liquid-damaged iPhone 5:

If your iPhone 5 has experienced water damage, do:

  • Remove the sim card, memory card, and anything else that might be plugged into the device.
  • Dry gently with an absorbent towel.

If your iPhone has experienced water damage, don’t:

  • Don’t push any buttons! This could force water further into the circuits.
  • Don’t use a hairdryer on the phone – this could also push water into the phone and do further damage.
  • Don’t turn the phone on too soon. It is best to wait 24 hours before attempting to turn your phone back on.

Went to get my replacement Zagg screen protector for my Google Pixel 7Pro and Cole was extremely helpful. He pointed out an issue with the recent repair that had been done at a different shop(not CPR) where I had been sent by my insurance. He told me I should take it back as I would have issues with the phone otherwise as moisture could get in. I ended up getting a replacement phone and CPR held my protector until I got the new phone and they put on for me. Would DEFINITELY recommend. Owner was great too.
