If you own an iPad Air, you likely take it with you nearly everywhere you go. Its super lightweight design and impressive battery life are the ultimate device for work, school, and play. Unfortunately, the one downside of the tablet being so portable is its susceptibility to liquid damage caused by spills, drops, and rain.

Is My Water Damaged iPad Air Ruined?

Just because your iPad Air went for a swim, doesn’t mean it’s done for. A majority of the time, iPads aren’t impacted by minor spills and rain; however, if your device was submerged in water, it will likely need serviced by a professional repair team.

How to Handle a Liquid Damaged iPad Air

While Apple’s iPad Air has some degree of water resistance, it’s not entirely waterproof. Over time, regular wear and tear impact the device’s ability to fight off water damage. If you think your tablet might be suffering from water damage, carefully follow these steps to minimize damage to the device.

Do the following if your iPad Air has water damage:

  • Turn off the tablet for at least 24 hours.
  • Remove your iPad case or any accessories.
  • Dry the iPad off with a microfiber cloth.
  • Prop your iPad up against a wall or something sturdy, ensuring the charging port is facing downward for any liquid to drain.

Avoid the following if your iPad Air has water damage:

  • Avoid touching any volume, power, or home buttons.
  • Don’t use the infamous rice trick.
  • Don’t heat the tablet with a hairdryer, microwave, or any other machine to get the liquid to dry.

Replaced my MacBook Pro battery. Made an appointment as required, they called back needing to push the appointment out to the next day - no problem. When I dropped it off, the digital ticket machine first showed $129.99, which was the amount I was verbally quoted when they ordered the battery. I was told that included all parts and labor. But the amount then changed to $149.99 once he printed the ticket as we left the store. They completed the work within an hour of dropping it off and emailed me that it was ready to pick up. Pleased with the speed and quality of the service. Just not with the changed in the fee charged.
